My story and my Mission

"Yoga has empowered me to embrace my own greatness, love who I am, and trust in the process”.

When I first stepped into a yoga class, I knew little about it other than its reputation for improving physical health and managing stress. But after just a few sessions, I noticed a pattern—no matter what was happening in my life, I always felt better after practice. I could actually feel my body thanking me. This was a new sensation for someone who had spent years in gyms, pushing my body to the limit with more reps, faster times, and better performance.

I used to leave the gym exhausted, only to wake up sore and stiff, demanding my body to do it all over again. Like many, I struggled with slowing down, equating it with laziness, thanks to societal conditioning.

In 2006, a serious car accident left me with spinal fractures in my neck, lower back, and a shattered coccyx. At that stage of life I had three young daughters, the youngest just six months old. The spinal injuries caused intense pain, altered sensations throughout my body, and debilitating incontinence. Life became a painful blur of rehabilitation and chronic discomfort, with frequent visits to pain clinics and multiple nerve block treatments.

Out of all the therapies I tried, yoga was the one that truly improved my quality of life. Returning to the simple yet profound act of showing up on my mat, connecting with my breath, and listening to my body gave me a sense of strength and mental clarity I had never experienced before.

The road to recovery was long and challenging, but a breakthrough came when one of the nerve block treatments provided temporary relief. This pain-free period allowed me to fully commit to yoga and focus on rebuilding my strength and stability.

The poses were challenging yet achievable, providing an incredible cardiovascular workout, improving my spinal movement, and shifting my emotional state. Yoga brought joy back into my life. It detoxed my system, boosted serotonin, and balanced my hormones, making me excited to get out of bed each morning.

The practice also helped me release deep-seated grief and trauma, leading to improvements in my weight, body shape, and muscle definition.

Today, I am filled with a deep love, respect, and passion for all things yoga. My classes are fun, dynamic, and ever-evolving, and I can't contain the joy I feel when teaching.

The positivity I bring to my classes is contagious, and I truly believe it's our duty as human beings to nurture our body, mind, and spirit daily.
